Home is Heaven: 32 Poems by Ogden Nash
First premiered in 2003, HOME IS HEAVEN: 32 Poems by Ogden Nash is an original play based on the poems of “America’s Master of Light Verse,” who made his summer home at Little Boar’s Head in North Hampton, NH. Pontine Theatre’s Artistic Directors, M. Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers, weave together thirty two of Ogden Nash’s poems which deal with family life and summers by the seashore. These are arranged into three “summers at the beach” which span the early, middle and late years of a family’s life together. Using puppetry, shadow theatre, masks and toy theatre, HOME IS HEAVEN celebrates both the flavor of seacoast New Hampshire and Ogden Nash’s unique, whimsical, and often idiosyncratic language and rhymes.
“Showcases the grace, clarity and insightful resonance audiences have come to expect.”
